Lord of the Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien

Simply a master piece and my first introduction into fantasy books.

 

The Dragonlance Series – Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

I read this series when I was young and loved following the characters as they battled their way through the land of Krynn.

 

The Shannara Series – Terry Brooks.

Another great read when I was young and cutting my teeth on fantasy novels.

 

The Belgariad Series – David Eddings.

This series kept me hooked for ten books worth of superb reading.

 

...obviously I have read many more fantasy books, but these are the stories that have  left an impression on me.
